Darius – The Hand of Noxus

A fearsome champion in 2XKO, Darius rose from humble beginnings to become a true bringer of carnage, cleaving through the enemies of the empire. He is a mid-range fighter whose attacks are as brutal and deadly as his axe.
Unique Mechanic: Wound

Darius can apply a “Wound” debuff to his opponents with specific moves like Sunder, Lacerate, and Noxian Might (including the Assist version). Wounded champions suffer chip damage even while blocking normal attacks. Additionally, the damage of his Lacerate attack is increased against wounded opponents. This debuff remains until the opponent’s team successfully lands an attack on Darius or his assist partner.

Heavy Hitter: Darius’s attacks have a significant impact, allowing both his normal and special moves to deal substantial damage.

Long Reach: Many of Darius’s attacks have considerable range, providing an effective way to control space in neutral. His , , + , and are notable examples.

High Chip Damage: Thanks to his unique Wound debuff, Darius can inflict a great deal of chip damage on opponents who are blocking. This allows his normal attacks to apply chip damage and increases the chip damage from his special moves. Your assist partner also benefits from this debuff when it is active.

Beginner Friendly: While Darius has depth for experienced players, he is a relatively simple and beginner-friendly character to pick up.

Large Defensive Toolkit: Darius possesses a diverse set of tools to counter enemy offense. These include his anti-air pull, Coward’s Bane ( + ), which can punish opponents for jumping, and his armored special, Grievous Wheel ( – + ), which can interrupt an opponent’s attack strings or approach. Furthermore, his Noxian Might ( + OR OR ) can destroy incoming projectiles while striking targets in a massive range.

Slow Mobility: Darius is one of the slower characters in the game. His lack of mobility options can make his approach one-dimensional and easy to counter.

Slower Attack Start-Up: The trade-off for Darius’s heavy-hitting attacks is that they have a longer start-up time. This can make it challenging to contest faster characters up close.

Predictable Offense: Darius has limited mix-up potential on his own, which can make it difficult for him to open up opponents without using assists. His offensive routes can also be susceptible to parries if used carelessly.

No Grounded Plus Frames: Most of Darius’s grounded moves are not safe on block, with his charged standing heavy being an exception. He relies heavily on assists to extend his pressure.

Vulnerable Against Armor: Darius can struggle against opponents with armored attacks, as this can negate most of his defensive tools except for his Ultimate. ( + )
