Braum – The Heart of the Freljord

Braum is a champion in 2XKO who hails from the frostbitten wilds of the Freljord. He acts as a stalwart protector, using his shield to aid those in need. In combat, he combines defensive utility, close-range attacks, and an army of poros to safeguard his allies and stop enemies cold.

Unique Mechanic – Unbreakable:
Braum can activate his “Unbreakable” state by landing specific moves, including Fight, Mighty One, Glacier Braker, Iceborn Smash, and The Heart of the Freljord. While Unbreakable is active, his shield-based normal attacks gain one hit of armor, and his special moves are enhanced. Braum loses this state if he is knocked down, thrown, or after using certain special moves.

Armored Normals and Enhanced Specials: In his Unbreakable state, Braum’s shield-based normal attacks (, , + , + , + ) gain a single hit of armor. This allows him to absorb an incoming attack and launch a counterattack if timed correctly. His special moves are also enhanced, gaining benefits like increased range, more damage, or the ability to apply a Freeze effect. These improvements extend to his assists, making his Unbreakable one of the most powerful in the game.

Assist Protection and Team Support: Braum’s “Stand Behind Me” ( + ) provides unlimited armor, making it a powerful tool for protecting his partner. As the active character, he can use it to make risky assist calls much safer. As an assist himself, his + can absorb an opponent’s attack, providing excellent defensive cover.

Incompatible with Certain Fuses: Fuses like Juggernaut and Sidekick can boost Braum’s high damage output while he’s Unbreakable, but they come at a cost. These fuses reduce the utility of his most powerful special moves and assists, especially “Stand Behind Me” ( + ). Since the key benefit of this move—protecting his partner—is diminished, these fuses are not ideal for his typical strategy.

Low Mobility and Limited Range: Braum has one of the slowest run speeds in the game, making it challenging to chase down mobile opponents. While he has tools to compensate—such as his anti-projectile dash “Battering Ram” () and the full-screen super ( + OR OR ) “Glacial Fissure”—he often needs to rely on assists, meter, or his Unbreakable state to close the distance effectively.
